The State of the Union

I want to briefly run down what's happened the last few months, because, in typical fashion, the zone--it is flooded. I didn't watch Trump's SOTU--why would I. But allow me a brief rebuttal.

-ICE and DHS officers have been acting as Trump's personal army, invading cities and abducting people off the streets with no just cause (there of course is no just cause in existence for this).

-These officers have shot several people, and killed several people. Peaceful protesters have been brutalized.

-Children have been taken off the streets and used as bait for immigrant family members. Those arrested by ICE report appalling conditions and suffer malnourishment and illness.

-The United States has kidnapped the sitting president of another country.

-We are currently moments away from war with Iran with no justification.

-We assisted in the extrajudicial killing of a cartel leader in Mexico, which has caused a spiral of violence.

-The US-backed genocide of Palestinians continues in Israel, with a US-fronted Board of Peace soaking up our money in order to turn Gaza into the next Atlantic City. (No shade on Atlantic City.)

-Kansas has just passed a bill that requires all transgender people to turn in their drivers licenses--forfeiting their driving privileges as those licenses are now invalid.

-The cost of living is skyrocketing. Aid to impoverished citizens has been stripped back severely.

-We have found out that underpinning our government and the capitalist elite has been a cabal of pedophiles the likes of which only the most conspiracy-minded of us could imagine. Don't lose yourself in the Pizzagate of it all, though; the people in power traffic and rape children. That's the takeaway.

People are starving in this country. People are being taken off the streets and thrown into camps that cost more than it would to simply house them. A ballroom is being built in the White House. The .1% get richer. We are actively aiding a genocide and ethnically cleansing our own country.

This is it, folks. There were never going to be bigger bells brought out and rung to stir us to action. There is just us, witnessing. Now is the time to act. There's really nothing more to be said. Do all the things we've talked about for the last five years. Help your neighbors, protect people you see in danger. Rally a group of people in your community to do these things. Plan out that garden now and grow the hell out of some food come spring. If you can safely do so, buy a gun. Buy a few, while it is still legal. Train. Train with friends. Learn some first aid and take a Stop the Bleed course.

The veil has dropped from the fascism in this country and it's now got us all by the throat. Do not waste your time with marches. Do not make a cute sign. Our tools--our only tools--are striking and unrest.
